Anne Murphy's Nominees for the 2003 Hugo Awards
As a member of the 60th World Science Fiction Convention,
I am eligible to nominate for the 2003 Hugos, which will be awarded
at the 61st World Science Fiction Convention, next year in Toronto. This is what I'm thinking I will nominate, so far.
Please let me know
if you'd like to suggest people or works that I should consider.
- Novels
- Ombria In Shadow, by Patricia McKillip
- Novellas
- "The Drive-in Puerto Rico" by Lucius Shepard (F&SF Oct/Nov)
- Short Stories
- "The Unfamiliar" by Jerry Oltion (F&SF, Dec)
- Professional Artist
- Fanzine
- Fan Artist
- Fanwriter
- Steve Stiles - look in Vojo de Vivo #2 for his wonderful self-illustrated article, Habakkuk Remembered.
- Anne KG Murphy (I had this great story in TANSTAAFL in January.)
- Teresa Nielsen Hayden (I believe a blog counts as fanwriting, especially when it mentions various fans and fannish topics and references other writing by fans.)
- Dramatic Presentation
For any category not mentioned I have not yet selected a nominee. Again, suggestions are most welcome. Last year, two of the people I helped nominate went on to win the award, which was most cool.
